Position Title: Wellness Graduate Assistant
The Dean of Students office serves as a central hub for questions and concerns related to student support. The Dean of Students staff is responsible for Student Care and the administration of the Student Conduct process. This graduate assistant position will primarily work with and support the Student Care process and work with Student Conduct.

Terms of Employment:
- For the Fall semester 20 hours per week, beginning August 24, 2026 and ending December 18, 2026.
- For the Spring semester 20 hours per week, beginning January 19, 2027 and ending May 14, 2027.
Compensation:
- Graduate Assistantship stipend is $3,182.5 for a half-time appointment (10 hours per week) and $6,365 for full-time (20 hours per week) per semester. Pay is biweekly and stipend is prorated depending on start date.
- Graduate Assistants and their spouses may qualify for in-state tuition. Spouses must submit marriage certificate to gradcollege@uni.edu.
- Graduate Assistants may receive University holidays and do not work during the interims between semesters.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Help with wellness education, information, and resources to students at information tables and outreach events.
- Assist with facilitating requested wellness programs in a variety of settings and with various target populations (academic classes, sororities/fraternities, student organizations, first-year students, etc.) regarding wellness topics that significantly impact student success (stress, sexual health, sleep, alcohol, and other drugs, etc.).
- Produce one-on-one wellness coaching sessions for students.
- Offer support in wellness events (i.e.Wellness Days, Maucker Union Live).
- Help gather and enter program participation data.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
General Qualifications:
- Must be a full-time (enrolled in at least 9 eligible credits), degree-seeking student in a UNI's graduate program. Online students able to commute to campus are eligible for assistantships.
- Be regularly admitted without provisions to degree status in a graduate degree program.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. First semester graduate students must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75.
- Have an official transcript on file and be fully declared in their graduate major before the start of the assignment.
- Must meet and complete I-9 eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must complete UNI’s mandatory employee training timely.

Preferred Qualifications:
- B.A. degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Family Services, Social Work, or a closely related field preferred.
- Seeking a M.A. degree in Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs, Public Health, School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or other closely related field preferred.
- Experience assisting with wellness program planning, marketing, and implementation preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Competent writing and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, basic graphic design programs (i.e. Canva), social media (i.e. Facebook, Instagram), and Google applications.
